In greek mythology, Ares instructs Alectryon to guard the door while he has an illicit affair with Aphrodite. Alectryon falls asleep and Helios, the sun god, walks in on the couple. As punishment Ares turns Alectryon into a rooster that never forgets to announce the arrival of the sun in the morning.
